Snow Fun

Jax & I had so much fun playing in the snow like usual. We LOVE the snow!! Yes I realize I look like I belong on The Christmas Story, but better to be warm than to have frostbite!!

He was pretty sad when we were done playing in the snow.  Is he not the cutest dog ever???

While Jax & I played, Kip slaved!  He loves loves loves to plow with his newest toy (technically my newest toy).  It was such a heavy snowfall that we decided that even though we had a very busy day & lots to do that we should go help all of our great friends & family.  We started on our side of the valley & then made our way over to west & plowed about 5 driveways not getting to do ours for the 2nd time until about 9:30 that night, by which time we had a few more inches.  We enjoyed our snow day & are always grateful to see friends & family (even if it does involve work!!)

Good Friends+Good Food=Good Times

We had a superbowl party at our house this year and it was way fun!!  We had a couple good friends over and ate until we could eat no more and watched the game.  It was a good game and we really enjoyed hanging out with good friends.  Of course we had to give the baby of the family (the dog) a huge bone to bribe him to leave us alone while we partied!!!

So I am officially an RN...finally!!!  I took my boards last Thursday and thanks to the state and their 4 day work weeks had to wait an unbearably long 4 days to find out the results.  It feels great to be done, but sort of surreal.  It felt so weird to write RN behind my name at work today instead of LPN.  

OnE YeAr AgO

We made it!!!  One year ago yesterday we checked into the U of U hospital.  We are so fortunate to be so close to one of the most amazing hospitals in the country and were lucky enough to get the most amazing orthopedic surgeon as Kip's surgeon.  We can never thank all the nurses and doctors enough for all they did for us.  1 life flight ride, 1 ambulance ride with him high as a kite on morphine, roughly 20 hours of surgery, 3 nights in the surgical ICU, 3 weeks in a rehab facility, and 10 months of recovery later and he is now doing great.  He still has a limp and may never get rid of it but he is alive and without a pain.  I thought I would make a list of funny things he said while in the hospital to help me remember later on in life.

*   He thought 4-wheelers ran on milk

*   Kip:  "You're an ass" with his eyes closed

     MD:  "You have never even met me"

     Kip:   "Fine I'm an ass"

*   Kip:  "I hate when you sleep in"

     Me:   " It is 7 am and we went to bed at 3 am!"

*   I went in to the bathroom and had not even sat down before he was yelling "Are you ever coming out???" 

*   Kip:  "Why are there so many people in this room?"

     Me:   " It's just you and me"

     Kip:   "Never mind I am seeing things"

*   Hey doc wanna come home with me my mom will make ya dinner

*   Mom did I pass history?

Yesterday Kip's grandparents renewed their vows and celebrated their 53rd anniversary.  It was a pleasure to be able to share that day with them.  We love them so much & hope that one day we can also celebrate that many years together.

Snow Day

Jax was so exhausted after playing in the snow all morning!!  He fell asleep in the house which he has NEVER done before cause he is always so hyper!!!
